Carbon monoxide poisoning prevention

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Known as the silent killer, carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas that can be very deadly, and most of the time people don’t even know they’ve been exposed before it’s too late.

“Carbon monoxide is a byproduct of incomplete combustion in the home, so any fuel burning appliance, natural gas, gas stove, dryers, water heaters, fire places, they can all produce carbon monoxide if not properly maintained and they malfunction,” Huntington Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Don Sammons said.
