Rimrock hits Cottonwood Residential with $3.1M lawsuit over Downtown project

Contractors are taking legal action in an attempt to collect millions of dollars they say they’re owed for work on a new apartment building in Downtown Salt Lake City.

Three firms have filed liens against Cottonwood Residential, the Brickyard-based developer that has been active locally and in Sun Belt markets across the country in recent years.

But subcontractors who helped erect the Cottonwood Broadway apartments, 254 units at 325 E. 300 S. in a building that spans an entire Salt Lake City block, from Broadway to 200 South, say they’re owed nearly $4 million for the work, according to the liens and a new lawsuit…
