On the morning of Jan. 7, the Moose Lodge in Mentone was tragically destroyed by a fire that spread rapidly throughout the vicinity. According to a news release, San Bernardino County Fire responded to a reported structure fire in the 2100 block of Mentone Boulevard in the community of Mentone at 5:45 a.m. on Jan. 7.
The first engine arrived at a medium-sized commercial structure which operates as the local Moose Lodge. Santa Ana winds were gusting and spreading embers into the surrounding community, posing a significant risk to nearby homes.
