New Haven man sentenced for role in Martha’s Vineyard bank robbery

BOSTON, Mass. (WTNH) — A New Haven man was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison for his role in a bank robbery on Martha’s Vineyard two years ago, according to the Department of Justice.

Romane Andre Clayton, 22, was sentenced by a federal judge in Boston. His time in prison is set to be followed by three years of supervised release.

Hartford police: Boy shot after snowball hit car

Clayton pleaded guilty in September to one count of aiding and abetting bank robbery. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in March of 2023 and a superseding indictment was filed that April.

The charges stem from November of 2022, when Justice Department officials say Clayton met Omar Johnson, Tevin Porter and Miquel Jones in Martha’s Vineyard to plan a bank robbery…
