COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A quiet weekend is on tap for the Midlands as a gradual warm-up begins to occur. Chances of rain increase late Sunday night into Monday morning.

Although it’s a frigid start this morning, a nice warm-up is in store through the weekend. For today, expect highs to top out in the lower 50s under a mainly sunny sky. Temperatures overnight are forecast to fall back below freezing to to the upper 20s by morning.
Sunday will feel even warmer in the middle and upper 50s, which is right around average for late January. Fortunately, we should salvage the weekend ahead of the potential of soggy conditions by Monday.
An incoming frontal system will usher in light scattered showers to South Carolina late Sunday night-Monday. Make sure you have your rain gear ready for the week ahead! Most of the rain will exit the region by Monday afternoon as clouds linger around. Temperatures will reach the lower to middle 50s.
We’ll dry out and turn sunny again by Tuesday in the wake of the system. Another batch of showers may swing in Wednesday from another disturbance.
Another big change in our weather next week will be our temperatures. Even with occasional showers around from these 2 systems, high temperatures towards the middle of the week will run above average in the middle to upper 60s.
