Stephanie Eury Granted Parole After Over 40 Years, Set for 2026 Release Under Mutual Agreement Parole Program

The North Carolina Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission has updated the parole agreement for Stephanie Y. Eury, who was convicted of first-degree murder in 1985. Eury, now approved for parole through the Mutual Agreement Parole Program (MAPP), has a new scheduled release date set for June 3, 2026. According to the official press release issued by the NC Department of Adult Corrections, MAPP is a collaborative effort between the commission, the Division of Prisons, and the offender to facilitate scholastic and vocational progress that supports reintegration into society.

The commission’s responsibilities extend to releasing offenders sentenced under old guidelines—before the implementation of the current Structured Sentencing law, which, abolished parole for offenses committed on or after October 1, 1994.
