Former talk show host Wendy Williams is set to appear on The View on Friday, March 14th, for a highly anticipated interview. This will be Williams’ first major televised interview in years, following a period marked by personal and health challenges, including a recent frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, in addition to her struggles with Graves’ disease and alcohol use. The interview comes after Williams publicly expressed dissatisfaction with her current circumstances.
Williams, whose signature catchphrase “How you doin’?” became a hallmark of her eponymous talk show (which ran from 2008-2021), will likely be greeted with the same question by the View’s panel.
While Whoopi Goldberg is typically absent from Friday tapings, speculation abounds as to whether she will make an exception for Williams, a close friend. It remains unclear whether the interview will be live or pre-recorded.
Should Goldberg be absent, Joy Behar is expected to moderate.
The interview will be conducted remotely via phone, with Williams joined by advocate Ginalisa Monterroso, founder and president of the Connect Care Advisory Group. Monterroso’s presence suggests a focus on Williams’ current struggles, potentially including navigating Medicaid services.
In other View news, Whoopi Goldberg recently had a tense exchange with a heckler, requiring security intervention. Joy Behar addressed rumors about her departure from the show, while Sunny Hostin shared details of a recent night out on social media. Sara Haines also explained a recent on-air interaction with Behar.
