‘My son was dead in the street’ | Mint Hill family seeks answers in deadly hit and run case

MINT HILL, N.C. — A Charlotte-area family is demanding justice and answers nearly five months after 31-year-old Messiah Bell was killed in a hit-and-run incident.

“My son was laying here dead in the street and they did nothing,” Tameca Bell, Messiah’s mother, said. “It’s just been like they have been sweeping it under the rug.”

Bell said her son was struck and killed on Nov. 1, 2024, in Mint Hill. Hours after the incident, she says police informed her that a 76-year-old woman had called to report hitting what she believed was debris in the road…
