Collaboration addresses issues downtown
As temperatures climb, the city and multiple organizations are trying to address potential issues downtown before they have a chance to get out of hand.
The City of Sioux Falls recently approved a new contract for South Dakota Urban Indian Health to provide street team services again this season, which encompasses trying to connect people on the streets with resources to meet a wide range of needs.
That also means not just bringing people to the Link, for instance, it can mean continuing to provide transportation to medical appointments or even reconnecting people with family. Last year, they assisted more than 200 people multiple times, and it was determined five people were responsible for many of the behavior issues downtown…
