Man killed by vehicle on I-64 in Ashland while trying to fix his car, KSP says

ASHLAND, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating after troopers found a man dead on the shoulder of I-64 in Ashland on Saturday night.

Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, troopers with KSP Post 14 in Ashland were dispatched to the 185-mile marker on I-64 in response to a report of a pedestrian who was struck in the area.

On Sunday, state police said the man who had been hit was identified as 78-year-old Hubert E. Mosby. He was found lying on the shoulder of the highway near his vehicle.

A preliminary investigation showed that Mosby had been trying to fix something wrong with his vehicle when he was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene…
