CLYDE, Texas — Residents in Clyde said their water bills have increased exponentially this month with little to no warning.
“Normally our water bill is like $106 a month for water sanitation and it’s all on one bill, the trash and the sewer and the water bill are all combined,” Clyde resident, Wallace McDaniel, said. “That’s normally $106 a month, ours yesterday was $160. So we had a substantial, and we didn’t use any more water than we normally did. So I think not only did they increase the water bill but they increased the sewer and the trash bill up, I’ve heard that, I don’t know that to be a fact.”
Tonya Fass, a resident in Clyde, said her water bill has gone up at least $100.
“Every month has gone up just a smidge more, and a smidge more, and a smidge more,” Fass said. “At first I was like, okay I had a water leak, had an old house, so I bought a new house, water bill should have gone down. The leaks have been fixed, everything has been fixed. New house, water bill just keeps going up. How does that make any sense Make that make sense.”
We tried speaking with the City of Clyde about the increase in the water bill, but they declined to talk with us…
