A man in Texas stands accused of pulling a weapon on children who refused to play basketball with him. Here’s what is known at the time of writing.

Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the moment in question took place on October 12th of 2024. It happened at Timber Elementary School. Mark Herman, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable, revealed what led up to incident.
According to the report from law enforcement, 41 year old Benjamin Wells made his way to a basketball court located at Timber Elementary School. Seeing a basketball game taking place, he approached unidentified children playing for a reason: to join and play. However, the children turned him down, which led escalation.
Wells Shows Gun To Children For Not Being Allowed To Join
Following the children’s rebuff, Wells proceeded to produce a handgun. He also not only threatened to hurt the children, but their guardians as well. According to court documents, he said “Someone is going to get hurt,” with the handgun aimed at them.
Wells was arrested following the incident, and put in jail with an $80,000 bond, per investigators. He was also charged with Aggravated Assault. Conditions of the bond include him not being able to go to Timber Elementary School, or be around the unidentified young children…
