BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services held a media availability with Secretary Vincent Schiraldi Friday afternoon, allowing media outlets to question the leader amid intense criticism and renewed calls for him to resign. However, the government agency did not invite FOX45 News to participate and when a reporter tried to question Secretary Schiraldi, an agency stepped in to stop the question and the secretary left the virtual event.
WJLA, a sister station in Washington, D.C., was invited to participate in a brief, virtual question and answer session with Secretary Schiraldi Friday afternoon. The details for that virtual event were shared with FOX45 News, but when FOX45’S Mikenzie Frost tried to ask a question, DJS Director of Communications Michael Sharp intervened and stopped the questions from happening. During a back and forth, Secretary Schiraldi left the meeting.
