Atlanta’s West End Mall is moving forward with redevelopment and is expected to close by the end of the month.
The 12-acre location was purchased at the end of September, with the city announcing it would be redeveloped into a mixed-use project featuring both affordable housing and commercial space in a $450 million project.
“This is a long-awaited new era for the West End. This is not just a redevelopment of the Mall West End—this is fulfilling a commitment to a community,” said Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said when the purchase was announced. “Our Administration is dedicated to creating affordable housing and vibrant business spaces that respect and preserve the rich legacy of this historic neighborhood.
