NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Firefighters in Aiken County are advising people to not burn their yard debris as crews work to cleanup.
Debris was a key topic of discussion when Augusta Commission members and other officials met at the committee level, with leaders approving millions.
In fact, it’s estimated that 90% of homes are destroyed indirectly by wind-borne embers that are carried ahead of the fire, according to the South Carolina Forestry Commission.
