NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) received federal approval to increase Medicaid rates for services provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Provider rates in the following three different programs will increase in mid-January.

The rate increases apply to three Medicaid Home and Community Based Services programs.
- Developmental Disabilities Waiver.
- Mi Via Waiver.
- Medically Fragile Waiver.
“Increasing provider rates strengthens the workforce and helps to ensure members receive the quality health care services they need,” Dana Flannery, medicaid director stated in a news release. “These programs allow individuals to remain in their homes and communities, avoiding institutional care. Improved compensation is vital for maintaining a robust Home and Community Based Services workforce.”
