Volleyball Boasts 3-1 Record to Start Conference Play

ALBANY, Ga — Fresh off a win at Florida Memorial University, the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers went 3-1 at the SIAC East Crossover Tournament this weekend at the HPER Complex.

The tournament opened with two sweeps for the Panthers against Lane College (2-5) and Tuskegee University (2-5), followed by a victory over Miles College.

Shynique McGee and Sawyer Arbuckle each registered double-digit kills, with McGee totaling 14 in the first match and 11 in the second. Arbuckle added 12 kills in the match against Tuskegee.

The first two sets of the opening game were closely contested, with teams trading points. The first set was tied at 15 before McGee and Arbuckle combined for four kills to clinch it. The second set followed a similar pattern, showing high intensity. Despite a few late errors from Clark Atlanta, middle blocker Marli Goodie’s kill helped the Panthers secure a 2-0 lead.

In their match against Tuskegee, the Panthers faced another challenge, with all three sets decided by three points or fewer. Nevertheless, Clark Atlanta came out victorious.
