COLONIE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– Colonie Police arrested a man for allegedly possessing a firearm after a standoff on Saturday afternoon. Police said Antoine M. Clegg, 46, is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.

Police responded to Exchange Street near Duffy Lane around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday for a man who allegedly brandished a handgun after hitting a person with a baseball bat. Colonie officers said the man fled after hitting the other person and came back to the neighborhood after law enforcement arrived.
Officers tried to get Clegg to leave his home and surrender to police several times, resulting in a standoff. Eventually, officers took Clegg into custody around 5:26 p.m.

Police said they have yet to recover the firearm and are asking the public for information about where Clegg went before police arrived on the scene. Anyone with information about the case and where the gun was used during the alleged assault should call investigators at (518) 783-2754.
An Albany County judge arraigned Clegg on Saturday evening, and he remains in Albany County Jail and is undergoing a mental health evaluation. Clegg’s three dogs were not harmed during the standoff and are in the care of Boght Veterinarian Clinic in Cohoes…
