Mountain Hawks Fall In Four Sets To Colgate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh volleyball continued Patriot League play on Saturday evening from Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall, welcoming in the defending league champion Colgate Raiders. The Mountain Hawks fell in four sets to the Raiders in what was the second of back-to-back matches this weekend.

Lehigh (7-4, 1-1 PL) and Colgate (4-8, 2-0 PL) provided the fans in attendance with a closely-contested set in the opening frame. While both the Mountain Hawks and Raiders held multi-point leads throughout the set, neither side was truly able to pull away from the other. With the score sitting at 20-19 in favor of Colgate, the Raiders concluded the set on a 5-3 run to win 25-22.

Set two went much differently, as it was Lehigh who jumped ahead to an early three-point lead. However, Colgate stormed back to gain a one-point advantage at 11-10. The two teams continued to go back-and-forth until a 4-0 run from Lehigh allowed the Mountain Hawks to pull ahead to a five-point lead.
