Cardinals planning to ‘make a pitch’ to $7.5 million Japanese phenom

The St. Louis Cardinals are entering a “reset” period. While they appear to be holding on to closer Ryan Helsley, they likely will trade eight-time All-Star Nolan Arenado to a contender.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean St. Louis is throwing in the towel for 2025. In fact, they might be planning to surprise some in the industry by making a pitch to a top free agent.
