FLORISSANT, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A family of five from Florissant is working to move forward after a fire in their home destroyed all their belongings.
The Florissant Valley Fire Protection District said just after 3:15 pm Thursday, a fire broke out in the wood-burning fireplace in the family’s Greenhealth Drive home, quickly spreading to the attic and causing extensive damage throughout the inside.
“That was our safe place, we have family game night every night in front of the fireplace so that was our spot, it was home for us,” said Kanisha Anthony. “It wasn’t until after we went and did a walk through I went ‘oh my gosh everything, everything is gone,’ we were able to walk out of the house with the clothes on our back.”…
