Vandals jump out early, roll to win over Gillespie on Senior Night

The Vandals scored early and often in the 1st half on Friday night, as they rolled to a 56 to 7 win over Gillespie on Senior Night at Mark Greer Field.

The Vandals got started immediately as they scored on the opening kick off. Kohnor Depew raced 89 yards with the opening kickoff return TD to get the Vandals a 7 to 0 lead 14 seconds into the game. After a Gillespie turnover, the Vandals were back on the board with a Qwentyn Stombaugh rushing TD at the 10:01 mark of the 1st quarter to make it 14 to 0 less than 2 minutes into the game. The Vandals would keep on rolling as they would lead 28 to 0 after the 1st quarter and were up 49 to 0 at halftime. The entire second half was played with running clock and each team tacking on one score.

The Vandals totaled 411 yards of offense on the night. Stombaugh threw for 3 TDs and ran for another and Kohnor Depew caught 2 TD passes and also had his KO return TD. The Vandals got several players into the rushing and receiving column on the night as Coach Jason Clay was able to use many Vandals on the night, especially in the 2nd half…
