UPMC Altoona ushers in the holiday spirit for patients

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — UPMC Altoona welcomed in the holiday season with a tree lighting Tuesday morning.

“It kicks off our holiday season,” Michael Corso, president of UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford said. “Our staff is always very moved by the tree lighting because it puts us in the spirit of the holiday. It reminds us of why we’re here: to take care of our community.”

Workers and visitors gathered in the main lobby to see a brand new tree be lit and Chreche blessed. Vince Eilenberger and a children’s choir from Arrows Christian Academy filled the room with carols and songs of the season…
