ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Rain has fallen 16 out of the last 18 days in Anchorage. We’re up to 2.90″ of rain for the month so far, which is about an inch above what is normal. Despite a dry start to the month, we’re moving into drier conditions for the second half of September, at least for the next few days.
Thursday will be the first in a string of drier days for Southcentral. You can expect partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-50s.
Although wet, this month has brought warmer-than-average temperatures. Normal lows this time of year are in the low 40s, but the coldest we’ve seen this September is 47°. With drier air and clearer skies, you can expect overnight lows to dip into the upper 30s this weekend for the first time this season. High temperatures will fall to the low 50s, which would also be the coldest we’ve seen since May…
