Temperatures are set to moderate for Western Alaska, following cold spell

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Unsettled weather remains in the Gulf of Alaska, keeping rain showers for Southeast, with showers and light snow for parts of Southcentral. While rain looks to primarily impact the immediate coast, areas of the Susitna Valley are holding onto light snow showers this morning. Any precipitation that manages to build into the Anchorage Bowl will likely be of the flurry variety, with little to no impacts.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

While activity remains with us today, many locations will begin to see any showers or light snow taper off. Inland locations will largely stay on the dry side, outside of light snow falling through parts of the Susitna Valley. While clouds through the night kept temperatures well above average, any cloud cover we see will slowly dissipate throughout the day. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will return later today, with a stretch of sunshine staying with us throughout the week…
