Due to injuries and lackluster play, Michigan cycled through 3 different QBs this season (Davis Warren, Jack Tuttle, and Alex Orji) who collectively managed to put up a measly 1,603 yards through the air. The wolverines ranked an embarrassing 130th in passing yards out of 134 FBS teams. Despite their consistently strong defensive performance this year, their offense was clearly too one-dimensional to compete at the highest level – an issue they are seeking to correct by hiring former UNC offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and several top recruits.
So far Michigan has signed five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood and Chase Herbstreit – son of ESPN analyst and former Buckeye quarterback Kirk Herbstreit . Although Michigan’s already shaping up to have one of the best 2025 recruiting classes in college football, coach Sherrone Moore is still not satisfied. After such an abysmal passing performance this season, the wolverines are seeking another QB from the transfer portal to round out and add depth to the position. Regardless of Underwood’s incredible playmaking ability and athleticism, it’s always good to have a variety of options with a variety of play styles as the program seeks to rebuild.
