Tecumseh woman charged with operating while intoxicated from August 2024 fatal crash

ADRIAN — A 38-year-old Tecumseh woman was taken into custody by the Michigan State Police Wednesday, Dec. 11, and lodged at the Lenawee County Jail without incident after the completion of an investigation stemming from an August 2024 fatal crash in Tecumseh Township.

The Michigan State Police Monroe Post said Holly (Dewitt) Schmidt has been charged with one count of operating while intoxicated causing death, and one count of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury. Both charges are felonies. She was arraigned in Lenawee County 2A District Court on Thursday, Dec. 12, and her bond was set at $75,000 by Lenawee County District Judge Laura J. Schaedler.
