JSU Head Coach Rich Rodriguez Discusses Team Progress and Upcoming Challenges

Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University (JSU) Head Coach Rich Rodriguez held a press conference on October 18, 2024, reflecting on the team’s recent bye week and preparations for their upcoming games. The team is gearing up for a crucial stretch of back-to-back Wednesdays in Conference USA play, following a grueling schedule that included two games in just five days.

Rodriguez noted that the bye week provided a much-needed opportunity for his players to reset. “It was almost like starting all over again,” he said. “We were playing better football, so having this time off was important to refresh some guys.” He acknowledged that the break allowed the team to regroup, recover from injuries, and focus on the challenges ahead.

The Gamecocks will face Middle Tennessee next Wednesday, a team Rodriguez respects for its athleticism and skill.
