Former City Councilmember Loren Taylor filed papers to run for mayor this week, formally taking another stab at returning to government. Flanked by his mother, grandmother and a crowd of supporters at City Hall on Thursday, he shared that he experienced a life-threatening health issue in December but is now back to “100%” and ready for the job.
Taylor, who served one term on council before narrowly losing the 2022 mayoral election to Sheng Thao, is positioning himself as the “political outsider” in the race.
