Nashville convicted felon arrested in Sumner County after traffic stop

SUMNER CO., Tenn. (WSMV) – A convicted felon out of Nashville was arrested in Sumner County following a traffic stop.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office said deputies conducted a traffic stop on Sunday. During that stop, they found the driver, David Smith, of Nashville, to be a convicted felon with prior resale drug convictions in Davidson and Shelby Counties.

Deputies then performed a probable cause search of the vehicle and found a firearm with the serial number scratched off, along with a “significant amount” of marijuana packaged for sale…
