Packers urged to sign versatile, ex-Eagles RB who had nose for end zone with Philly

Marshawn Lloyd’s rookie season is trending towards a red-shirt year for the Green Bay Packers .

The exciting third-round draft pick, who played alongside Caleb Williams at USC, has been snakebitten by injuries and bad luck in 2024. The 23-year-old running back was slowed by a hip injury during offseason workouts, a hamstring issue during training camp, and an ankle sprain that’s kept him out of action since Week 2 of the regular season. The team opened his 21-day practice window in hopes that he could return for Sunday’s game at Chicago, only for him to miss the trip due to appendicitis .

The good news for Green Bay is that veteran back Josh Jacobs is on track for his fourth career 1,000-yard rushing season. The team could use more depth at the position, though, with Lloyd’s recovery time still to be determined and undrafted guys Emmaunel Wilson and Chris Brooks currently in reserve…
