Oklahoma May Get a Fall Cold Front Next Week

We thought Oklahoma was going to end August on a hot note, but a last-minute strong cold front is looking like it will make its way to the state before the end of summer. Local meteorologists are expecting the cold front to come through and bring in fall-like temperatures, and moving the heat dome out east.

The heat is slowing tapering off in Oklahoma starting this weekend. Areas of northern and central Oklahoma are already seeing a break from 100-degree temperatures. But southwest Oklahoma is still feeling the heat. Honestly, this strong cold front can’t come soon enough. All of Oklahoma is tired of summer!

When will the strong cold front come through Oklahoma?

Local meteorologists are expecting the strong cold front to come through Oklahoma sometime next week or weekend. Just in time to start meteorological fall on September 1! News 9 Meteorologist Lacey Swope expects this end of summer cold front to be the strongest of the summer. She indicated on her professional Facebook page that some of the future data is seeing temperatures closer to those expected in October rather than August.
