Dollar General in De Soto reopens after small fire

A fire caused minor damage to the Dollar General store at 424 N. Main St. in De Soto on Thursday morning, Aug. 22, according to Fire Chief Tony Ochoa.

He said a Dollar General employee called 911 at 11:27 a.m. after seeing smoke in the building. The first firefighters arrived at 11:31 a.m. and extinguished a fire in a bathroom in a storage area in the back.

He believes the fire originated in the bathroom’s exhaust fan. The fire caused some damage to the bathroom and some Christmas products above the room’s ceiling…
