NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A burgeoning singer-songwriter in the Nashville community was killed in a crash on Interstate 24 in Montgomery County early Sunday morning.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 40-year-old “Larysa Jaye” Jackson died in a single-vehicle crash off I-24 near Dixie Bee Road around 3:30 a.m.

The THP reported Jackson was driving a Honda Accord westbound in the right lane when she lost control and drove off of I-24, drove down an embankment and rolled until it stopped on Dixie Bee Road.
Jackson was a single mother of four children, which served as inspiration for her song, “The Thoughts That Happen (The Mama Song).” Her website explained, “Ticking off work, church and school … reminding herself “mama gotta do all that”; Larysa breaks the song and her vocals open with the refrain, “Am I good enough? Am I strong enough? Am I woman enough?”; Rather than gloss over real life struggles that aren’t textbook “show biz,” she points right to them.”
