FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Mostly sunny skies and a break from the rain

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) – Take advantage of Tuesday’s break from rain, as storms are expected to linger in the forecast until the following Tuesday.

WEATHER ALERTS:

Tuesday morning will begin with partly cloudy skies, but as the day progresses, expect the clouds to dissipate, leading to mostly sunny conditions by the afternoon. Highs will be in the 60s, while overnight lows will drop to the 40s.

Late Wednesday night, storm activity is anticipated to develop northwest of our region. Visualize an imaginary line stretching from McCreary County to Lawrence County, Kentucky; areas to the west of this line will face the highest chances of rain and storms on Thursday, while those to the east will have only a slight chance of precipitation.

This weather system is expected to strengthen on Thursday and Friday, staying in the region northwest of eastern Kentucky. By Friday afternoon, storms will likely move east, increasing the likelihood of storms across our entire area as we approach the weekend…
