APPLE GROVE, W.Va. (WV News) — Structures continue to rise, with progress becoming increasingly visible at the Nucor site in Apple Grove. The $3 billion plus project is the biggest capital investment in West Virginia’s history. The groundbreaking ceremony for the steel mill was held in October of 2023.
Nucor officials said in October that the mill is about one-third completed, and that the first pieces of equipment have been set-up. There are currently just under 250 Nucor employees on site, along with nearly 1,000 contractors and construction workers…
