Since 2007, Firelands Electric Cooperative has partnered with local radio stations WLKR-FM and K96-FM to collect donations for USO Ohio’s Step Up for Soldiers annual drive, according to a news release.
From Veterans Day through mid-December, collection boxes were available in the lobby of Firelands Electric’s office, 103 Industrial Drive in New London, the release said.
Donated items included razors, deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, chewing gum, chips, beef jerky, trail mix and numerous other snacks and hygiene products.
