DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A major winter storm is heading for Dayton, and local and state officials are working to keep Ohioans informed.
The Ohio Traveler Alert System has been activated for the Columbus and Dayton metropolitan areas. This means digital signs along major highway routes will display crucial weather information for drivers.

This effort is a collaboration between the National Weather Service Wilmington Office, the Ohio Emergency Management Agency and Lamar Advertising. Over 50 signs are available for use through the partnership when severe weather occurs.
