COLLINS — The Western Reserve girls basketball team took control in the second quarter and cruised to their second win of the season with Monday’s 54-26 win over visiting St. Paul in a Firelands Conference game.
The Roughriders (2-7, 2-3) were tied at just 4-4 after one quarter with the Flyers (0-9, 0-5). But Western then went on an 18-2 scoring run in the second quarter, and outscored St. Paul by a 50-22 margin over the final 24 minutes.
Kara Woodruff led the ‘Riders with 17 points, while Kendall Warthling added 10. Ally Goebbel added eight points, and both Layken Barnhart and Maylee Wetzel each scored six points…
