Pete Alonso did his best Benny Hill impression during Game 2 of the NL Wild Card series.
In the first inning of Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, the New York Mets slugger Alonso was up at the plate with two on and one out. Unfortunately though, Alonso hit a grounder to the shortstop for a tailor-made inning-ending double play.
To add insult to injury, Alonso somehow managed to trip over his own bat after he hit the grounder, causing him to fall over right out of the batter’s box as he was trying to get to first base. Take a look at the bizarre video…
