Potential for heavier rainfall for the week ahead

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Monday morning. We start off the new work and school week with fair skies and warm temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Some isolated pockets of fog will be expected for your morning drive to work and school. Early sunshine will quickly boost our high temperatures into the upper 80s to lower 90s by the afternoon with a light westerly breeze. Cloud cover will start to increase later in the day with a few isolated rain showers popping up before sunset. Skies stay partly cloudy overnight and lows will remain warm around 70 degrees by daybreak Tuesday.

Tuesday should be partly cloudy with high temperatures around 90 degrees. Humidity levels will be on the rise thanks to the breezy southwest wind gusting over 15 miles per hour. Isolated to widely scattered rain showers and storms are expected into the afternoon. A few storms Tuesday afternoon may be stronger in nature with gusty winds and frequent lightning. Wednesday looks to be the wettest day of the week with fairly widespread rainfall potential along with a few embedded thunderstorms. Rainfall may be heavy at times through the day…
