The Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at a drugstore on Sunday, Jan. 5 at around 11:13 a.m., according to an ACCPD press release. The incident occurred on the 700 block of Oglethorpe Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the store staff who stated that an unknown subject entered the business, approached a checkout counter, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the register drawer. The subject’s face was covered during the robbery and they were able to leave the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
