The Athens-Clarke County Police Department held the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) Piedmont Area Traffic Enforcement Network (PATEN) meeting on Oct. 18. After the meeting, multiple agencies conducted vehicle checkpoints in Athens-Clarke County to ensure safe driving.
The agencies that assisted in the checkpoints included the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Health.
