Parking boot stolen by UGA student

On Oct. 21, 2024, at approximately 1:27 p.m., a parking boot, valued at around $200, was reported as stolen to the University of Georgia Police Department. The boot came off of a privately-owned moped that was illegally parked in the S10 lot.

UGA Transportation and Parking Services requested a criminal investigation which resulted in one misdemeanor charge for theft by taking for a UGA student. The identification of the student was made based on photos of the moped provided by a UGA employee

On Jan. 7, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued and contact was made with the student, concluding the case.

Former UGA employee fails to return equipment

At around 12:33 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2024, approximately $2,705 worth of electronics equipment was reported as stolen to the UGAPD after an ex-employee failed to return the equipment after their termination. The stolen equipment included a laptop, two monitors, a charger, a mouse, a keyboard and a headset. Serial numbers for the laptop and monitors were collected…
