Clayton County Police Address False Allegations of Inmate Animal Abuse

The Clayton County Police Department responded to a video circulating online in which a concerned citizen alleged that inmates at the Clayton County Detention Facility were involved in the sexual abuse of an animal. After a detailed review, authorities determined the claims to be completely unfounded.

The department clarified that what the citizen claimed to be a “dog’s head” in the footage was actually an inmate’s elbow as they were petting the animal. A second video, captured by an older motion-activated camera, initially caused confusion due to omitted portions of footage. However, a newer camera with a full-color, continuous recording provided a clear and complete perspective, debunking the allegations.

The Clayton County Police Department emphasized its commitment to public trust through transparency and accountability, while also warning against the harm caused by false reports.
