WORCESTER, Mass. — Longtime Make-A-Wish Foundation board member Bill Murphy returned home to Massachusetts on Saturday after raising money by running seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.
As a Make-A-Wish board member for 20 years, the 53-year-old father of three has raised over half a million dollars for charity. He is also a veteran marathoner and ironman.
Murphy took part in The Great World Race from Nov. 15-21. It began in Antarctica and ended in Miami. Murphy ran marathons in Miami, Cartagena, two in Istanbul, Cape Town, Perth and Antarctica, all within a week this month…
