Arkansas beats Auburn, 24-14

Arkansas defense produced five turnovers, and the offense found just enough big plays and fortunate breaks to notch a 24-14 win over Auburn on Saturday afternoon inside Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn (Ala.). With the win, the Razorbacks start SEC play 1-0 for the second time under head coach Sam Pittman.

TJ Metcalf had a hand in four turnovers for Travis Williams’ defense as he recorded two interceptions, forced a fumble in the second quarter, tipped pass that led to a first-quarter interception by Doneiko Slaughter, posted four tackles and broke up two other passes. Slaughter was equally impressive, finishing with a team-high six stops, an interception, two tackles for loss and a sack.

Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green was benched for the second series of the second half after starting the third quarter with his second interception of the day, but the junior responded in a big way starting late in the third quarter when he hit Isaiah Sategna for a 58-yard touchdown that recaptured momentum for the Razorbacks (3-1, 1-0 SEC)…
