(FOX40.COM) — The Placer Land Trust (PLT) and William Jessup University (Jessup) are in the final days of fundraising more than $5.1 million to preserve and protect hundreds of acres of rare woodland in Rocklin.

It is also steeped in the history of human habitation of North America, with archaeological finds dating back at least 7,000 years, and the area served as a meeting place for Native American tribes for several thousand years.
