Motorcycle vs pickup in Puyallup: one man sent to hospital, the other arrested

Puyallup police responded Sunday evening to a collision in the city that sent a motorcyclist to a hospital with serious injuries and closed a road near South Hill Mall for hours.

According to a department news release, the crash occurred at 6:02 p.m. as a motorcyclist headed eastbound on 39th Avenue Southwest and approached the 700 block. At that point, a pickup truck entered the roadway from 7th Street Southwest, “without yielding the right of way to the motorcycle, causing a collision,” the release sad.

The collision knocked the motorcycle and rider across the road. The rider, a 28 year old Pierce County man, was transported to a local hospital, police said…
