Sheriff’s office: Shelter in place in effect in Centennial after barricaded suspect fires rifle at neighbor

DENVER ( KDVR ) — There was a heavy police presence in a neighborhood in Centennial after a suspect allegedly fired a rifle at one of his neighbors Christmas morning.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on X that a suspect fired a rifle at one of his neighbors around 6:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of East Hinsdale Place. At about 2:50 p.m., FOX31’s Kasia Kerridge learned the suspect had been taken into custody. He was allegedly naked at the time of the arrest.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect had been barricaded inside his home ever since. A reverse 911 alerted residents in the area to shelter in place.

The sheriff’s office was on the scene as well as SWAT authorities, K-9 units and the bomb squad.

Details regarding why the man fired at his neighbor, why he was reportedly unclothed at the time of his arrest and other details regarding the arrest were not immediately available…
